With so many "under-the-hood" changes in the new Project Module, our team didn't quite have the resoures to rewrite the Project Dashboard in time for the Project's re-launch - but we're pleased to announce it's back online, with a few improvements detailed below:
Since we had the dashboard offline for a few weeks, our team had some extra time to reflect on the performances issues in the previous iteration of the dashboard and come up with better ways to query the project data.
The scorecard now uses 2 rows (instead of 3) per project, letting you see more projects in a cleaner format. You can also more easily see the budget usage % - rather just a coloured dot!
Another handy bit of detail in the scorecard: Just under the $ value of a project you can see how much has been invoiced.
Ok, so this is a bit of a teaser: The Value Graph doesn't yet have the coloured segments to help you see the breakdown of projects by status, but we're working on this over the coming week!
As before, you can toggle to graph projects monthly by the total number of projects, by combined value, or combined hours budgeted.
The performance table has been tweaked to focus less on averaging out the time spent and the age of projects, and more on the key performance indicators of your projects managers. It has also bee simplified to focus on currently active projects, rather than projects over a certain period. And you can still toggle to analyze by Staff or Clients
On Budget: This floodbar gives a weighted (by project value) indication of how well each manager's projects are tracking in terms of budget usage and forecase.
On Time: This floodbar was in the previous dashboard. It has just been improved to provide more accurate (weighted by project value) indication of how well projects are tracking in terms of completion vs. due date.
On the right of the performance table you'll find the trusty pie chart giving an even more graphical representation of who has the most project management work on their plate!
