Every now and then our Support team receives requests that are pretty big head-scratchers. One user even asked:

“I know this is a strange question, but how is "Accelo" pronounced? People in our office pronounce it different ways and I'd like to know the correct way.”

Well, since you asked so kindly, we thought we’d share some tips on how to pronounce Accelo for our users…

The most common way it is pronounced is by combining the word "Accelerate" and the letter "O". All you need to do is pronounce the first two syllables in "Accelerate" - "Accel" - and tag on the letter "O" - as an "oh" - so it would sound just like Excel-Oh.

However, there are many variants we've heard over the years, and we encourage your team to use the one that best suits you. Here are some of our personal favorites:

  • "Awk-See-Loo": This sounds like a cute little sneeze if said really quickly.
  • "Uh-Chell-Oh": Also known as a Cello, a loved musical instrument.
  • "Uh-Sell-Oh": When you’re already sold on our product.

While this request is up there with some of the more difficult ones we receive ;) there are a few others that we take just as seriously, for example:

Can I work for Accelo?

We’re always excited to hear from users who have adopted Accelo for their company and love it so much that they want to come work for us! It’s a huge commendation for all the hard work we do. In fact, three of our very own Accelo employees currently on our implementation team were previous Accelo users. Talk about practicing what you preach!

If you’re interested in joining our team, we want to hear from you. We have opportunities in Engineering, Sales, and Marketing throughout our global offices and we absolutely encourage you to apply for current job openings listed on our Careers page.

Do you have a Referral Program?

Yes! We love it when our users want to share the power of Accelo with their networks. It’s a testament to how transformative Accelo is for our professional users. The Accelo Referral Partner Program is for advisers, thought leaders, and professional associations who can promote Accelo within their networks. Be an Accelo champion and get paid for it? It doesn’t get much better than that.

We also have a Certified Partner Program for businesses that want to include Accelo as a key part of their service offering for clients - providing sales, configuration, implementation, training and support to their clients on an ongoing basis.

Is Accelo Australian?

While the idea for Accelo originated and developed in Australia, Accelo is a global company with clients in over 86 countries, including Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, New Zealand, Croatia, Mexico and China. The company is headquartered in the SOMA District of San Francisco; our office for engineering, research and development is located in Wollongong, Australia; and our newest office location is based in Denver, Colorado.

However, there’s no escaping our Australian roots. Across our offices, jars of vegemite and packages of Tim Tams and Shapes are some of the office staples that you’ll see on our shelves.
