As a busy professional, you're focused on delivering outstanding work to your clients. That being said, things can get pretty hectic when you’re trying to keep up with “busywork” like admin and scheduling tasks, so much so that it can get in the way of doing the work you love. Luckily, smart technology exists that can automate a lot of these things for you, so you can get back to focusing on your clients.
Here at Accelo, we recently started using Calendly, a simple and beautiful scheduling tool, to schedule all of our calls and demos - and we’re loving it. We love automation (after all, that’s what we do!), and Calendly’s scheduling automation is something both you and your invitees will actually enjoy. That’s why we’ve created this quick two-step guide to help you get it set up - and if you’re using Accelo to run your business, you can connect and sync your Calendly with it (and bask in the beauty of full-blown business automation).
When creating an account, you’ll want to use your Google account (the one you use for work).
Click on “Get Started” and sign up! Bonus: you get a 7-day Premium trial for free. Then you’ll have to pick your Calendly link (i.e. calendly.com/Bobs-Burgers), your time zone, and choose who you normally meet with (i.e. customers, partners, interviewees, etc). Then you’ll be taken to a short video on getting started. Once you’ve watched it, go to your Dashboard. There you can choose an Event Type, like “Demo with Will” or “Go over deliverables” and also pick a location as well as a description for the event.
After you decide when people can book meetings with you (i.e. Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 5:00pm) you’ll be taken to a page with Additional Options. You’ll want to click on the Invitee Notifications tab. Once you’ve done that you’ll be asked what kind of confirmations you want your invitees to receive. The default setting is “Email Confirmation” but you’ll want to switch that and click “Joint Calendar Event”. Then, switch on the Reminder setting and click Save & Close.
The great part about Calendly and why it’s so easy to sync with Accelo is because, like with Accelo, you login and authenticate through your Google account. So, since everything syncs automatically between Google Calendar and Accelo, once you go ahead and sync your Google account with Calendly, that data will push to Accelo automatically for one seamless pairing of hands-free management.
